M&S boss calls price cap 'preposterous'
Supermarket price cap proposals are facing strong criticism from retail leaders, who warn of negative impacts. An M&S chief called a proposed cap 'preposterous', while a former Sainsbury's boss dismissed the idea as 'nonsense' amid cost of living concerns. The Scottish Retail Consortium also labelled the SNP's plan to legally cap 50 essential food items a 'gimmick', fearing small shops would become uncompetitive.
