WMO says Earth's heat imbalance reached new high.
The planet's ice caps are melting and oceans heating quickly, which harms marine life and intensifies extreme weather. The World Meteorological Organization warned Earth's energy imbalance is driven by human-caused warming gases like carbon dioxide. Atmospheric carbon dioxide is at a two-million-year high; an El Niño may soon bring further heat records.
