Wes Streeting may quit for Labour contest
Labour’s internal row could add more pressure on Keir Starmer after ministers and MPs questioned his authority. Allies of Wes Streeting said on Wednesday that the health secretary plans to leave his cabinet role and begin a leadership race as early as Thursday. People close to Downing Street said he may still lack support from 81 MPs needed to formally enter the contest.
