Dover port warns new EU border system will cause disruption
MPs are warning that the Port of Dover faces "utter chaos" and long traffic queues this summer because of the EU's new Entry/Exit System (EES). The port has installed 84 automatic kiosks for the system, which requires fingerprints and photos, but they cannot be used due to French technology delays. The EU rejected calls from airports and airlines to suspend the EES, despite acknowledging "20 difficult spots" where it causes tailbacks.
