Brain activity rehearses social interactions
New research using zebrafish suggests our brains might rehearse social interactions, preparing actions before we even move. Scientists at Hebrew University of Jerusalem saw a neuron burst in the pallium, a brain area like our amygdala, before fish approached others. This “neural signature” was specific to social acts and stronger in more social fish, possibly explaining individual differences.
