Khan allows Soho al fresco dining from summer 2027.

London Mayor Sadiq Khan plans to allow al fresco dining in Soho from summer 2027, overriding local council opposition. This comes after Westminster council resisted pedestrianisation, despite a popular outdoor dining scheme during the pandemic. New powers will allow the mayor to overrule council decisions and open up central London for outdoor dining.
