EU will not stop PlayStation ending disc game production in 2028

The European Union will not stop PlayStation from ending physical game production in 2028. Michael McGrath, the EU Commissioner for Consumer Protection, stated companies are free to offer games as they see fit. Sony announced on July 1, 2026, that new PlayStation games will only be available digitally from January 2028.
