UK energy bills could jump £217 in July despite April cut
The Ofgem energy price cap fell 7% on 1 April, reducing the average annual dual-fuel bill to £1,641. But forecasters at EDF Energy expect the July cap to rise by around £217 as the Iran conflict feeds through to wholesale prices. Chancellor Reeves said the government is 'preparing for all eventualities' but offered no immediate financial help for households.
