Coastal house prices jump as UK market slows
House prices are climbing quickly in several UK seaside towns despite signs of a slowdown in the wider property market. New figures from Rightmove show Bootle in Merseyside recorded an 11% rise in average asking prices over the past year. Coastal areas in Wales also posted strong growth, with Llantwit Major seeing a 9% increase and Llanelli reporting prices up by 7%.
