Five countries join UN Security Council for two years

Five new countries are now joining the UN Security Council for the next two years, which will change how global issues are discussed. The United Nations General Assembly elected Austria, Portugal, Kyrgyzstan, Trinidad and Tobago, and Zimbabwe on Wednesday. Germany, a major European nation, missed out on a seat after a hotly contested race for the two-year terms.
