Protester pulls down Iranian flag from London embassy

On Saturday, a protester climbed onto the Iranian embassy balcony in Kensington and tore down the Islamic Republic flag, replacing it with Iran's pre-1979 Lion and Sun emblem. The incident occurred during solidarity protests with Iranian demonstrators facing a government crackdown. Video footage showed hundreds of protesters cheering as the historic flag associated with Iran's monarchy was hoisted. Metropolitan Police arrested two people for aggravated trespassing and assault. An embassy official later restored the Islamic Republic flag while protests continued with calls for democracy.
