Ilfracombe shortlisted for UK Town of Culture, will get £60,000 funding
Ilfracombe in north Devon has made the 15-town shortlist for the UK Town of Culture contest, beating almost 400 other entries. The town will now receive £60,000 to help develop its bid, with the final winner announced in early 2027. Charmain Lovett from One Ilfracombe called the news "absolutely incredible" as the area often misses out on such opportunities.
