UK job vacancies hit five-year low

This is the lowest number of available jobs since early 2021, showing firms are cutting back on hiring. The Office for National Statistics (ONS) said vacancies fell by 19,000 to 707,000 in the three months to May. Meanwhile, average regular pay growth stayed at 3.4%, still rising faster than prices.
