UN pauses Strait of Hormuz ship evacuation after attack

A planned UN operation to evacuate over 11,000 sailors from the Strait of Hormuz has been paused after a cargo ship was hit. The UN's International Maritime Organization (IMO) said it wants to ensure "necessary safety guarantees" are in place following the attack on Thursday. US officials say Iran fired on the Singapore-flagged Ever Lovely, which had been following an IMO-designated route.
