Met Police drones to respond to 999 calls across all London
The Metropolitan Police are expanding their drone program to respond to 999 calls across all London boroughs, aiming for a city-wide network. This move is part of a larger technology push by Met Commissioner Sir Mark Rowley, who also wants more freedom to use tools like facial recognition. The force says drones are quicker, quieter, and cheaper than helicopters, with nine drones already attending about 200 incidents weekly.
