Microsoft Teams to Auto-Update Work Location via Corporate Wi-Fi Connections

Microsoft Teams to Auto-Update Work Location via Corporate Wi-Fi Connections

An upcoming feature in Microsoft Teams will automatically update a user's work location by identifying when they connect to the company's Wi-Fi and setting their status to the relevant office building. The function, aimed at improving hybrid-work coordination and presence accuracy, will be disabled by default. Tenant administrators will have control over activation and can require employees to opt in before data sharing begins. Microsoft says the update will enhance workplace visibility while maintaining user privacy controls.
