US House votes to overturn Trump tariffs on Canada
The US House has voted to overturn trade duties placed on Canadian imports under President Donald Trump, in a move that is expected to have little practical impact. The resolution passed narrowly after six Republican lawmakers broke ranks to support Democrats. Mr Trump has since cautioned party colleagues against challenging his economic agenda. The proposal will now be debated in the Senate, where Republican dominance and the likelihood of a presidential veto mean it is unlikely to progress into law.
