Israel passes new law for death penalty trials

Opposition has come from human rights organisations regarding Israel's new law, which allows capital punishment and public trials. The Knesset, Israel's parliament, approved this legislation by 93 votes to zero for those linked to the October 2023 attacks. The 7 October 2023 events led to over 1,200 deaths and 251 individuals being kidnapped.
