MoD receives top sanction after two soldiers died in 2017 tank explosion
A Crown Censure, the most severe penalty applicable to a government organisation, has been issued by the Health and Safety Executive. Corporals Darren Neilson, 31, and Matthew Hatfield, 27, died when an L30 gun detonated aboard a Challenger 2 tank at Castlemartin Range in June 2017. The defence contractor, Rheinmetall BAE Systems Land Ltd, will also face prosecution for the incident.
