Russian general killed in Moscow car explosion

Lieutenant General Fanil Sarvarov, head of Russia's operational training department, was killed Monday morning when an explosive device detonated under his car in southern Moscow. Russian investigators suspect Ukrainian intelligence services orchestrated the attack, making it the third such killing of a senior military officer this year. The 56-year-old general, who served in Chechnya and Syria, died from his injuries after emergency services freed him from his badly damaged vehicle on Yasenevaya Street in the Yasenevo district.
