London air pollution deaths down 40% since 2019
Deaths linked to air pollution in London have dropped by about 40% since 2019, new research estimates. Imperial College London found nitrogen dioxide levels fell 41% and fine particulate pollution dropped 28% in the same period. Mayor Sadiq Khan said this shows his Ultra-Low Emission Zone (Ulez) is saving lives, despite its earlier expansion facing opposition.
