NHS hits clinical trial target at 122 days

UK patients are getting faster access to new treatments after the NHS hit a major clinical trials milestone. The government confirmed this month that average commercial trial setup time has fallen from 169 days to 122, beating the Prime Minister's 150-day target set last year. The UK also recorded 29 global firsts and 54 European firsts for patient enrolment since April 2025, boosted by £137 million of reforms.
