Leaked code hints at Fable 5 return to subscriptions
Hidden text found in a recent Claude Code update suggests Anthropic is preparing to bring its Fable 5 model back as part of subscription plans, with a weekly usage allowance rather than a separate charge. The strings, verified independently by Decrypt, do not appear in the public changelog and have not been announced by Anthropic. Fable 5 has been offline for everyone since 12 June under a US export-control order.
