Gold drops towards weakest quarter in 13 years

Gold drops towards weakest quarter in 13 years

Lower gold prices could affect investors as interest in the metal has fallen and expectations for higher US interest rates have grown. Prices slipped below $4,000 a troy ounce on Tuesday, putting the metal on course for its weakest quarterly result since 2013. Earlier trading reached $3,942.99, the lowest level since November, before prices recovered slightly.
