EU migration law passes, MEPs chant 'send them back'
A new EU law to increase undocumented people's deportations passed, sparking anger and human rights concerns. Right-wing MEPs in the European parliament celebrated Wednesday's vote by chanting 'send them back', drawing 'shame on you' responses. The plans, approved 418 to 218, allow two-year detention; Amnesty International France, a rights group, called them 'absurd, cruel and discriminatory'.
