Covid inquiry finds NHS teetered on brink of total collapse
Millions faced serious healthcare issues and many were failed as the NHS almost collapsed during the Covid pandemic. The third inquiry report on Covid, led by Baroness Hallett, details how the UK healthcare system was already overstretched and understaffed prior to the pandemic. By March 2020, intensive care nurses were sometimes responsible for up to four critically ill patients, instead of one-to-one care.
