Air India landing damages Phuket's only runway, causing 9-hour delays

Many flights were diverted and delayed, including one for nine hours, following damage which closed Phuket International Airport's only runway. An Air India Express Boeing 737 MAX 8 suffered nose wheel issues during a hard landing on 11 March at 04:24 UTC. All 133 passengers on flight IX938 were safely evacuated; no injuries reported.
