23andMe hack victims to get $47m payout after judge's ruling
Victims of a 2023 data breach at genetics company 23andMe will receive about £35 million in compensation. On Tuesday, a California judge ordered Chrome Holding, the company that acquired 23andMe last year, to pay $46.75 million. The hack meant sensitive data from up to 6.9 million people was accessed, leading to investigations and fines from regulators.
