Resident Doctors in England to Stage 5 Day Strike Over Pay Dispute

Resident Doctors in England to Stage 5 Day Strike Over Pay Dispute

Resident doctors in England will strike from 14 to 19 November 2025 after pay talks with the government failed. The British Medical Association said the decision followed unsuccessful discussions with Health Secretary Wes Streeting about restoring pay and improving career progression. It will be the 13th strike since 2023. NHS leaders warned the action could affect winter virus management and efforts to cut the 7.4 million-patient waiting list. Streeting said salaries have risen 28.9% in three years and no further increase is possible this year.
