Two men died on Sunday after going into the sea off Seaton Carew beach in Hartlepool to save two children who were in difficulty. Cleveland Police confirmed both youngsters were safe and taken to hospital to be checked after the incident. Officers are investigating the incident, but do not consider the deaths to be suspicious.
