Scotland gender clinic waitlist hits 6,435 patients, 1,000 wait 5+ years.

By the conclusion of March this year, an unprecedented 6,435 individuals in Scotland were awaiting an initial specialist appointment at a gender clinic through the NHS. Most of these patients had waited for over two years, and more than 1,000 individuals had been on the waiting list for longer than half a decade. The Scottish government acknowledged these waiting times are "unacceptably long" and is working to reduce them.
