OpenAI hires top Gemini researcher from Google
Barely two years ago Google paid about $2.7bn to bring him back, showing how brutal the AI talent war has become. Noam Shazeer, a co-lead of Google's Gemini AI and one of the field's most respected researchers, said on Wednesday he's joining OpenAI. He co-wrote the famous 2017 paper behind today's chatbots, and arrives as OpenAI heads towards a stock market float.
