Plumber Hannah Spencer wins first Green by-election

The 34-year-old secured the Gorton and Denton constituency to become the party's fifth representative in Parliament. Spencer, who recently studied plastering, publicly apologised to customers because she must cancel their booked jobs to assume her new role. She currently leads the Green group on Trafford Council and has lived in Greater Manchester her entire life. She now joins colleagues including Siân Berry in the House.
