Bank of England Says Banking System Can Handle the Crisis

Despite rising energy prices and growing uncertainty, the UK's biggest banks remain in a strong position to support households and businesses. The Financial Policy Committee said the banking system is 'appropriately capitalised' with high liquidity and strong asset quality. Direct UK bank exposure to the Middle East remains limited, and impairments on lending stay low.
