Fifa calls Uefa hypocritical in row over Balogun's lifted red card

Fifa has accused Uefa of hypocrisy, saying overturning red cards is common in Uefa leagues despite their criticism of Balogun's ban being lifted. Fifa’s disciplinary committee chair, Mohammad Al Kamali, defended the decision as “a balanced measure” and “nothing new in the modern game”. Uefa's strong accusation that Fifa crossed a “red line” by letting USA's Balogun play after his World Cup red card preceded this.
