UK gas prices jump 80%: Significant bill rises from July
The Iran conflict is already pushing up UK energy costs, with petrol rising 3p per litre and diesel 5p — unusually quickly and in anticipation of further crude oil increases. Crude oil is now around 15% above pre-conflict levels. Gas prices have settled approximately 80% higher, which could lead to significant bill rises from July. Prime Minister Keir Starmer has emphasised energy security through continued investment in domestic renewables.
