Deadly Fire Kills 40 at Swiss Alpine Resort During New Year's Celebrations
At least 40 people died and around 115 were injured when fire swept through Le Constellation bar in Crans-Montana ski resort during New Year's Eve celebrations. The blaze started at 1:30am with over 100 revellers inside the crowded venue. Emergency services deployed 10 helicopters and 40 ambulances to treat victims with severe burns. Swiss authorities have ruled out terrorism and are investigating the cause of the fire, which occurred in the luxury Alpine resort popular with international tourists.
