Trump threatens 100% tariffs over European tech taxes
Donald Trump has vowed to impose a 100% import tariff on any European country that brings in a digital services tax on American tech companies. He said the penalties would apply immediately and override existing trade agreements, targeting nations planning "imminent implementation" of new levies. The UK already has a 2% digital services tax, which raised over £800 million in 2024-25.
