China yuan payments hit record amid Iran war
Global trade could shift as businesses move away from dollar payments during instability. China’s cross-border payment system recorded its highest ever daily value as demand for yuan settlements rose during Middle East tensions. Transactions reached 1.22 trillion yuan in a day, with nearly 42,000 deals processed, while analysts said the conflict has boosted use of yuan especially in oil trade.
