Stolen phones becoming useless to criminals
The Met Police wants to make stolen phones worthless, hoping to stop criminals profiting from them. Commissioner Sir Mark Rowley urged the home secretary to introduce legislation that would require companies to publish data and prevent stolen devices from operating. He says Apple has "cracked" the problem, meaning most recent stolen phones in London aren't factory reset.
