Ian Huntley attacked in Frankland prison workshop

The 52-year-old serving life for killing two schoolgirls suffered severe wounds at HMP Frankland just prior to 09:30 GMT. Paramedics transported the inmate to hospital via road after the incident occurred inside a work area. Durham Constabulary officers are currently investigating the assault and liaising with jail staff. This marks another violent incident involving the murderer, who was previously slashed and scalded whilst incarcerated.
