Joe Root goes past 14,000 Test runs
Cricket fans saw another major batting record added to the game's longest format during England's match with New Zealand. On Saturday, Root reached the milestone on day four of the second Test at The Oval while leading the side in place of Ben Stokes. He got there in his 302nd innings, with Sachin Tendulkar the only other player above that total and finishing on 15,921.
