John Davidson Says He’s “Deeply Mortified” Over Misinterpreted Tourette’s Tics After BAFTA Film Awards
Tourette’s advocate John Davidson expressed he’s “deeply mortified” if anyone thought his involuntary tics during the 2026 BAFTA Film Awards were intentional or carried meaning. Davidson’s vocal tic, which included a racial slur at the ceremony, stemmed from coprolalia linked to his condition and wasn’t reflective of his beliefs. In his first statement after the event, he thanked BAFTA and highlighted that his behavior is uncontrollable and not purposeful.
