Universal Music Turns Down Ackman’s $65bn Offer
Investors won’t see a change in control after the music company’s board said the proposal didn’t offer enough value. Universal Music Group rejected Bill Ackman’s takeover approach on 29 May after reviewing the plan with financial and legal advisers. Pershing Square’s offer valued the business at €55.75bn, or about $65.03bn, with backing also missing from shareholder Bolloré.
