NASA plans permanent moon base by 2032
NASA plans for a sustained human presence at a lunar base, with initial semi-permanent housing, are targeting the early 2030s. NASA has unveiled plans for the third phase of its lunar base initiative, slated to begin in 2032, which will incorporate semi-permanent housing for space crews. Programme officials have indicated that a lunar base at the Moon's southern pole could span an area of several hundred square miles.
