South East Water must pay £30.5m for supply failures, Ofwat announces
Regulator Ofwat has announced that South East Water is to pay £30.5m following multiple supply disruptions, failures in customer service, and a breach of its licence. The resolution for three inquiries totals £30.5m, with one being a £22m penalty for water supply problems from 2020-2023 that impacted more than 286,000 individuals. Roughly £13m from the penalty will be allocated to address the issues that led to the interruptions in supply.
