Eight and nine-year-olds can now use UK airport e-gates

From Wednesday, children aged eight and nine can use e-gates at UK airports, a change expected to benefit around 1.5 million additional children. The policy aims to speed up journeys for families, as younger children previously had to queue for manual passport checks. To use the e-gates, children must be at least 120cm tall and accompanied by an adult.
