Apple to Use Google's Gemini to Enhance Siri
Apple has partnered with Google to integrate Gemini language models into its AI features, including Siri. This multi-year agreement, potentially costing Apple $1 billion annually, aims to enhance Siri's capabilities. While Apple has been developing its AI, called Apple Intelligence, it chose Gemini after evaluating other options like OpenAI and Anthropic. Apple will maintain its privacy standards during the partnership, processing data on its Private Cloud Compute servers. The upgraded Siri is expected to be released later this year.
