Children seriously hurt after car hits them near school

A girl suffered serious injuries and a boy was also hurt after a white Toyota hit them in Stoke-on-Trent, Chell Heath Road. The event took place on Wednesday, just after 8:30 BST, close to Burnwood Primary Academy. Both children were taken to Royal Stoke University Hospital, but their injuries are not thought to be life-threatening. The driver stayed at the site of the accident.
