South Africa deports over 53,000 foreign nationals
South Africa has deported or repatriated over 53,000 foreign nationals in the last five weeks. Most of those deported were from Malawi, Zimbabwe, and Mozambique, with officials expecting the number to increase. The deportations follow weeks of anti-immigration protests where migrants were accused of contributing to high unemployment and rising crime.
